Trip to Chennai, India

On a recent trip to Chennai to shoot for a commission I managed to get a few days off to explore for myself. Chennai (formerly Madras) is an industrial city on the south-eastern Indian coast. Despite its commercial significance, it’s also well known for its cultural heritage and temple architecture. The coastline was badly hit by the 2004 Tsunami, with more than 200 dead, and many more displaced and losing their livelihoods. Chennai is a vibrant city, and it was a delight to spend a few days exploring.

Hi Shuchita – I think perhaps you missed the link to the Chennai Interactive 360s (link opens in a new window) as those include images of Kapaleeshwarar Temple, Arjuna’s Penance and Mahabalipuram. The blog post just includes some Chennai photos to give a flavour of the city.
