Tower Bridge

Although lacking the history of London Bridge, Tower Bridge is London’s most famous bridge. Named due to its proximity to the Tower of London, it’s an iconic London landmark recognised globally. Designed by Sir Horace Jones and Completed in 1894, the double leaf bascule bridge allowed the passage of tall masted ships to the nearby Port of London. Although the port closed in the 1960’s the bascules are still raised an average of 3 times a day.
