Trafalgar Square at twilight is one of London’s defining views. This high-resolution panorama captures the moment the lights come on across the square: Nelson’s Column and the Landseer lions illuminated against a darkening sky, the fountains catching the last of the day, and the grand facades of the National Gallery, Canada House and South Africa House coming alive with warm light. St Martin-in-the-Fields and the London Coliseum (home of the English National Opera) complete the scene.
The image was captured from an elevated position to give a sweeping, architectural view across the square rather than the usual street-level perspective. At this resolution, individual figures, architectural details and the interplay of artificial and natural light can all be explored in close detail.
The full-resolution file is well suited to large-scale print, exhibition, or commercial use. It has been printed at several metres wide for display purposes.
