Honourable Artillery Company Ground Evening by Will Pearson

Artillery Ground, Evening

This cityscape overlooks a part of the City of London that many of those dashing down the streets of Finsbury will never see. The vibrant green of the Artillery Ground contrasts sharply with the surrounding buildings. It belongs to the Honourable Artillery Company (HAC). The HAC building, Armoury House (not in view here), overlooks the ground, which is used for cricket, rugby, football, as well as being hired out for events.

Beyond Artillery Ground you’ll see many of the City of London’s landmark buildings. This includes 20 Fenchurch Street (the Walkie Talkie), Heron Tower, 100 Bishopsgate and beyond, the Shard. Tower 42 is dwarfed next to 22 Bishopsgate as it rises. St Paul’s Cathedral is uplit in the evening light. Look to the right of the image and you’ll just see the London Eye between the towers of the Barbican.
