Can of Ham
It’s not a moniker that’s been adopted as the official title for this new building at 70 St Mary Axe, but the Can of Ham certainly describes its form. At only 90 metres tall it’s one of the smaller additions to the City of London skyline, but it certainly makes up for this with its unusual design. Like its near neighbour at 30 St Mary Axe (the Gherkin) its semi-eliptical shape means its lower floors offer less surface area than the middle floors.
