Millennium Bridge

Spanning the River Thames in London, The Millennium Bridge is a pedestrian footbridge linking Bankside, close to St Paul’s Cathedral, to the southern side of the Thames in front of the Tate Modern and nearby Globe Theatre.

The bridge opened in June 2000 but it immediately became apparent that it was vibrating significantly whilst in use. The ensuing engineering headache closed the bridge for 2 years whilst the wobble was corrected.
