Laguna Beach 360, California 360 Photography

Laguna Beach Sunset

Laguna Beach, Orange County

Who wouldn’t want to be Californian? Standing on the sand at sunset, watching paddle boarders glide across the Pacific waters at Laguna Beach.

Located just south of Los Angeles in Orange County, Laguna Beach is one of California’s most iconic coastal towns. It’s known for its rugged cliffs, thriving art scene, and deep connection to surf culture. The town has hosted one of the world’s longest-running surf contests for decades.

The evening I shot this Laguna Beach 360, the surf was quiet, but the water was still alive with movement. Locals took to their paddle boards, cutting slow, graceful lines across the glowing ocean as the sun dipped toward the horizon.

This stretch of California coastline is carefully protected, which means wildlife thrives here. On a calm day you can spot dolphins or even whales passing offshore. It’s the sense of scale, combined with the unique light, that makes this location such a compelling subject for panoramic and 360-degree photography.

Epic California in 360

This interactive Laguna Beach 360 forms part of my California Series. This is a collection of high-resolution, interactive panoramas captured at some of the state’s most iconic locations. It was part of a project commisioned by Apple. The locations vary significantly, from Los Angeles to Yosemite, from Joshua Tree to Highway 1 and Big Sur. Each 360 captures the distinct atmosphere and light that define California.
